Job Description
We are searching for a Shipping and Receiving Team Lead to become a part of our client’s dynamic team at their head office in Delta. This company has been in the aircraft manufacturing industry for over 60 years and holds an exceptional track record of strong operational performance.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this position will be responsible for supervising the Logistics Team and supporting daily logistics functions. This successful candidate will collaborate with various departments on work statuses and to help support daily priorities, so they must be able to thrive in a team-based environment!
Candidates must meet all requirements under CGD & ITAR and be able to work on military programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Material Handlers and Inspectors, ensure delivery requirements and time targets are met
- Manage transportation of materials
- Assist with freight consolidations
- Collaborate with various departments and supervisors to support daily priorities and provide work status
- Manage CTPAT compliance
- Manage department budgets
- Assist in conducting material demand forecasting
- Make hiring decisions, assist with disciplinary actions, track staff absences and timekeeping
- Assist with accident investigations
- Maintain responsible areas for 5S compliance
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ shipping and receiving experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills from experience managing multiple union employees
- Computer proficiency with MS Office programs (Excel)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with NADCAP, ISO Quality Systems and related quality systems is an asset
- Experience in implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Six Sigma preferred
- Proof of vaccinations required
