Senior Accountant

Job Description

A thriving company in Surrey with national and global customers is growing at a great pace and they are in need of an Senior Accountant to join their winning team! Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Accountant is responsible for full-cycle accounting acitivites and financial analyses, as well as identifying opportunities to improve the accounting department’s efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions to maintain and balance general ledger accounts
  • Create monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc reports
  • Prepare budget documents and financial statements
  • Analyze financial information and provide recommendations
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Mentor and train junior accounting team members
  • Review and ensure accuracy of junior accounting staff journal entries
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effetciveness of accounting systems and procedures
  • Conduct variance analyses and reconcile accounts
  • Assist in financial and tax audit processes, monitor internal controls for audit compliance


  • 2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience including experience with monthly reporting
  • Certificate or diploma from an Accounting/Business program
  • Completion of CPA or currently pursing CPA is ideal
  • Strong computer proficiency including experience with Power BI, accounting software and intermate to advanced skills with MS Office Suite
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
