Buyer – Delta

Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a Buyer with 2 years of experience to join our client’s Delta team. This company has been in the aircraft manufacturing industry for over 60 years and holds an exceptional track record of strong operation performance. 

This role reports to the Purchasing Manager and is responsible for proposal negotiation, continuous cost and quality improvement, and ultimately ensures the continuity of supply goods. They are looking for candidates with a minimum of 2 years’ purchasing experience, as well as scrupulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Review inventory/purchase requests and determine purchasing requirements
  • Obtain quotes
  • Ensure the timely delivery of materials
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies, obtain refunds and credits
  • Assist with assessment and selection of suppliers
  • Ensure all purchase orders, renewals and changes adhere to contract terms
  • Ongoing review of cost performance, conduct annual report card reviews
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Diploma or degree in related field (Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management) preferred
  • 2+ years’ purchasing experience including experience preparing RFQs, RFPs and Agreements in manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years’ proven negotiation experience
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, MRP systems)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Second-to-none organisational skills
  • Willing to travel 20% of the time
