Junior Project Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Project Assistant to join to join a Burnaby-based team in the construction/trades industry.

The Junior Project Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and operational support throughout ongoing projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organization skills, and will be able to work to strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • General admin functions including creation of work orders, printing labels, and procurement
  • Project shop drawings submissions and close out documentation
  • Preparation and processing of RFPs and pre-qualification forms
  • Coordination and booking of travel/accommodation
  • Accepting materials deliveries, verify accuracy of shipment, communicate arrival to Project Manager’s, and place materials in assigned areas
  • Return Material Authorization requests and follow ups
  • Book training and equipment repairs, input and maintain in databases
  • Scheduling vehicle maintenance, dropping vehicles for repair where required
  • Occasional pick up and drop off of materials
  • Answering the phones

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years’ experience in similar project/admin roles
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office suite)
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Great customer service skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Second to none multitasking abilities
  • License and clean driving record are a must
